Ruxpin Picture

the Ruxpin: You Sunburn

the Ruxpin: Asleep At The Wheel

This is a band I know from where I live. Although from Arkansas, their keyboardist/femalevocalist and their bass player live below me (“another man’s ceiling is another man’s floor” – Paul Simon), and they ran out of money whilst doing some studio recording.

So I imported what they had into my home “studio” (my computer) and recorded the female vocals on top of what they already had, tightened up the vocals to each other, did a little mixing (mainly turning up the bass a bit) and the above are rough mixes.

Check out their MySpace page from my blogroll.

So I tried installing XP on my laptop computer by buying an extra harddrive for it so I wouldn’t destroy the Vista setup that came with my laptop.

That failed because the laptop is SATA and the XP installation program doesn’t recognize that (and I couldn’t come up with a SATA driver for my laptop to install at the beginning of the XP installation process.) Long story short, I tried installing an XP installation on that laptop harddrive on my desktop computer (the SATA for the laptop and desktop have the same plugs, still didn’t work), and I needed to partition the laptop harddrive. So I double and even triple checked to make certain I was gonna partition the correct drive, and it decided to destroy my partitions and boot sectors on 2 of the drives on my desktop before it got to my laptop drive. I was franticly trying to CTRL/ALT/DEL when I immediately noticed it, probabably should’ve powered off my desktop with my power strip, but didn’t have time enough to think of that. So I destroyed 2 (out of 3) of my operating systems on my desktop, and made invisible the other partitions on those 2 drives. So I spent the past week and a half recovering as much as possible.

Good news, the only things lost weren’t critical data. And in “The Process” I discovered how to turn off the most irritating thing about Windows Vista. The thing where it interrupts you asking for approval whenever you want to do something like open the Device Manager.

Here’s what you do: Open your Control Panel, open User Accounts and turn off User Account Control.

Happy Vistaing (and Happy Turkey Day!!!!)

Ok, you’ve got your “center” folk you’ve thrown into your proposed cabinet.

But it’s just a .cab file IMHO.

You’re making a mistake if you think you’re getting 100% accurate advice from those you’ve proposed.

You should throw us liberals a bone, throw in Kucinich in your .cab inenet, dude.

At least you’ll have one person in there that will tell you the 100% truth.

“Shoes for the industry
Shoes for the dead” – Firesign Theater

Ahh, it’s such a pleasure to say that. :-)

I won’t miss saying President George “D Dubya I” Bush. I will find it a pleasure to be able to say former President George “D Dubya I” Bush, though. :-) It will be a good thing to be rid of the “enemy within” (” … enemies … domestic … ” – the oath of office)

Along with about 3 other Senate races, in “limbo” is the Minnesotta(sp?) race between Senator Norm Coleman and Al Franken. Last I heard that after millions of votes “recorded”, Al’s between 400 and 500 votes behind “anything but” Norm. :-)

Which automaticly forces the race into “Overtime” (a recount.)

(StanNote: In actuality, Al Franken is a moderate (but he does lean left.))

We aren’t in ‘Kansas’ anymore. ;-)

’nuff said

I’m not gonna stoop to the low levels set by the Republican’ts and suggest to my Republican’t readership to “GO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 5th.!!!!”, but I do suggest that if you haven’t early voted, get your ass out and vote on Tuesday. I’m a believer in participation in “The Process”.

Now, if you’re an idiot, then perhaps I should suggest that you shouldn’t vote at all, it might be for the better of the nation …
