Keith damned me to a place he doesn’t believe exists…interesting. I feel terrible that his father is going through such an awful experience, but for him to use that as an excuse to lie about what the death panels are is despicable. Conservatives are not upset about patients talking to their doctor and coming up with a living will or a family member and a doctor coming to a rational decision.
What the death panel is, is a government board that decides who will qualify for care based on age, symptoms, severity of disease progression, and ultimately an arbitrary judgment on that persons value to society. It will not make decisions on a case-by-case basis, but based on generic, arbitrary criteria. WE WANT decisions to be made in a patient-doctor setting, we don’t want them made by a bureaucrat. Keith either LIED about what the death panels are, or he’s to stupid or ignorant to understand.
Nestor -
> Keith … doesn’t believe exists…interesting. …
Straw man. And so the rest of your comment is filled with.
But you also said this -
> What the death panel is, is a government board …
What the death panel is, is health care insurance corps deciding if they’re gonna pay for the medical care of their insured.
Stan, I much prefer that a corporation has that power. Corporations have to deal with competitors and if they don’t take care of their custormers, people can leave and be insured by another company. They also can be sued for negligence, which the shareholders won’t like too much. If the government is in control of healthcare, they will be the final arbiter of healthcare decisions. You can’t seriously want Kathleen Sebelius, Ezekiel Emanuel, Cass Sunstein and their lackeys deciding policy on who gets what kind of care do you?
Nestor -
> Stan, I much prefer that a corporation has that power. …
You’re a Fascist. You certainly aren’t a conservative or a Christian.
Stan. You’re a moron and you don’t have the first clue what fascism is. Eh, maybe that’s too harsh. You’re ignorant. That’s better.
Nestor, you’re a moron and you don’t have the first clue what conservatism and Christianity are. Eh, maybe that’s too harsh.
You’re ignorant. That’s better.
That of course, is an example of “reducio ad absurdum” (reduction to absurdity.)
Me-
>> You (Nestor) certainly aren’t a … Christian.
I don’t see Nestor even *trying* to deny this fact (that I observe.)
Stan,
You don’t know what it means to be a Christian either. If you don’t even know what Fascism is, how could you possibly understand something like true Christianity. America (and the world) is flooded with so much false doctrine that it’s clear that you don’t know that.
You also don’t know what conservatism is. Conservatism however, is nuanced. I have been reading many 17th-19th century political theorists and I don’t 100% agree with any of them. I like some of Locke, DesCartes, Smith, Burke, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Chadwick, Mill, Madison and others. (OK I like a lot of Locke) Heck, I even like some Voltaire. But I don’t 100% agree with any of them. I think their beliefs were somewhat limited by the fact that they didn’t know what would happen over the next 200 years…we have that benefit. 200 years from now, people will probably say, “Wow those 21st century guys had some great ideas, but if they only knew about this.” So my suggestion to you is this, learn your history, before you start advocating the type of stuff that Rousseau, Malthus, Marx and Engels advocated. Their well-meaning beliefs ultimately led to Eugenics, the Holocaust, the purges of Stalin and Mao, the Killing Fields, etc.
Nestor said; “I much prefer that a corporation has that power”.
Fascism, pronounced /ˈfæʃɪzəm/, is a radical and authoritarian nationalist political ideology.[1][2][3][4] Fascists seek to organize a nation on corporatist perspectives; values; and systems such as the political system and the economy.[5][6] Scholars generally consider fascism to be on the far right of the conventional left-right political spectrum,[7][8][9][10][11][12] although some scholars claim that fascism has been influenced by both the left and the right.[13][14]

I know that to be a real Christian that you should follow in Christ’s teachings. I do think that that’s more than you know about being a Christian.
BTW: RIP KO’s dad. He passed away today or yesterday.
PING Nestor:
Dude, so now that it’s established that (your false idol) “Bleck” ™ is advocating leaving the church (if that church preaches social justice), you agree?

> Nestor said; “I much prefer that a corporation has that power”.
You got to hand it to Nestor this time, though, lafin. It’s the most honest he’s ever been with us.
That’s like saying John Wilkes Booth was honest for jumping on stage and taking a genuflect for shooting Lincoln.

Here’s the big secret. What us Jews (well, blood only in my case. I don’t believe in the (supposed) “one God” theory) were chosen for, is to tell (supposed) Christians when they’re full of shit.
First, you losers took me out of context. So everything else you said about me being a fascist is crap.
What Fascism really, really is, is a system of government, where government allows corporations to maintain their companies so long as they follow government policy. If the corporation strays from government policy, they are taken over by the government, hence Government Motors. This has serious advantages for the Statist. The government can still exercise near total control over commerce through regulating corporations but without the burdensome task of nationalizing every industry at the same time. It allows a Statist government to nationalize industries one by one, while still controlling nearly every sector of the economy through policy.
Nestor bears false witness against his neighbors -

Since this thread is dealin w/ “isms”, how about Ubermans blatant sexism?
To be a Christian is to follow Christ. To do this you must first accept that Jesus was God incarnate; actual God in the flesh. This is an especially difficult stumblin block for Jews (just as the virgin birth isn’t accepted by many so-called Christians) because they were (and still are) lookin for a political messiah (or worldly king).

A total liberal.
Stan,
Please elaborate using evidence of Jesus’ *SUPPOSED* liberalism.
Everyone knows Jesus was a centrist.
Jesus had long hair and a beard. He was a HIPPIE!!!! The first, IMHO.
Nestor said this (somewhere else) -

Yet it’s U that idolizes “Bleck” ™ and the “White Limbaugh” ™.

Btw, I did put up a new thread.
Reck, post a link to it. The last new thread I see up there is from Jan 2009.
You found it.

Dude, you see that halo over his head???? It takes really good recreational drugs to be able to do that.
Or, it takes like Hollywood elites (you know, like artists) to create that image.
Reck -

Yeah, but since we don’t trade links on our (respective) blogrolls, you really should post a link to where it is in a comment here.
You’re side won today, so congratulations.
My side will speak Nov 2nd.
Stan,
I didn’t want to put this on my blog cuz of the language, but I think you’ll get a kick out of it!

Linda, Onion’s done better stuff, but I did appreciate the plug 4 my blog at the end.

Thanks for the avatar dude!
Actually, it’s a result of the Wordpress update I did. Your avatar was selected randomly by the Wordpress program.
Well, at least I *THINK* it was a random thing done by the (WordPress) program. For all I really know, perhaps the program knew than when Reck comes around, he gets *THAT* specific avatar.

“Rite, the avatar w/ his mouth taped shut. Just wat yall (libs) have been tryn to do to us (conservs) for yrs.”
Really? Is that why the Texas school books will no longer have any “lib” substance? Even though it is factual to history? Why is 90% of talk radio right wing? WHY did HUAC blackball all the lefties that would not go along with the program? You don’t know what you’re talking about!
Lafin,
Conservatives do have talk radio. Liberals have 90% of Newspapers. (though only the conservative papers are profitable) 80% of Cable News. (though Fox garners 60% of the ratings) 90% of Hollywood. (though Anti-America movies tank at the Box Office) Plus you have 90% of the educational system.
You’re just flat wrong that all ‘lib’ material will be excluded from schools, but the Texas School Board is working to balance the educational system. Here are the issues that I have with what the Texas School Board is doing. 1. It is clear that liberalism is a mental disorder. 2. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for being. 3. If we present conservative beliefs alongside liberal beliefs, showing their pros and cons in an unbiased manner, (which is how public school education should be presented) a majority of kids will choose conservatism. The problem is this: Kids are rarely presented information from either side of the political spectrum in an unbiased manner. In schools information is generally slanted to the left.
The only conservative professor I know to have had was my US History II professor. Our textbook was wildly liberal in its approach. He would point out the left-wing bias by saying something like; “Hmm. That’s an interesting way to put it. You could also say this…” He would present the other side of the argument. Any good Texas teacher could do the same thing when they get a slightly more accurate, but still biased textbook in the next year or two.
The bottom line is this, if you want your kids to get the kind of education they deserve, homeschool. Oh wait, that’s on it’s way to being illegal in California pretty soon isn’t it? Oh well, move to Texas and you can teach your kids what you want, or on second thought, don’t.

Bullshit.
PING Nestor and Reck: FYI: If you ever really want to be thought of as “TRUE CHRISTIANS”, you need to stop lying and bearing false witness against your neighbors.
Nestor -
> … The only conservative professor I know to have had …
Dud, conservatives aren’t interested in educating, in fact, conservatives are much more interested in de-educating. It’s called the “dumbing down of America”. Review recent history (and even your own comments.)

I see that you noticed that I (a liberal) allow Reck to comment here. I mean, it would be very easy 4 me to ban Reck from commenting here (since I own this blog) if I had *any* interest in doing that.

By this I assume you mean ONLY the liberal point of view.
“Why is 90% of talk radio right wing?”
Because it’s market driven.
“WHY did HUAC blackball all the lefties that would not go along with the program?”
Seriously? uh..I suppose because it’s purpose was to expose those same lefties as the commies that they were.

Yes, I agree; you’ve always been a consistent defender of the 1st Amendment.

What century do you live in????

“What century do you live in????”
I live in the 21st century; the subject that was bein discussed (HUAC) was from the 20 century.
Judging by your avatar, I think you live in the silenced century.
Come on man, come up with a better response. And if not better, at least come up with something funny.
I do still think that this is the most important recent thread here on “The Blogosphere Starts Now”, so I’m commenting here again.

Tea Party events throughout the nation April 15th…BE THERE!!
So how about your tea baggers join with the unions in protesting Wall Street?
Stan said-
“tea baggers”
projection; attack the real conservatives
It was the real conservatives that came up with the title “tea baggers” for the so-called Tea Party Movement. You silly Republican’t.
straw man
Reck, just a question out of curiosity. Y is it that you think that you can get aWAY with claiming “straw man” argumentation/attack when you (tacitly (by your attempted ridicule)) claim that I can’t even say “straw man” (in accurate context)?
red herring
No silly, it’s a question.
Stan,
I refuse to address your bare assertion fallacy.
No silly, you refuse to answer my question.
How does one answer an erroneous question exactly?
If you actually were confronted with that hypothetical (in your case), the correct answer would be: “mu”.
So Reck, have you stopped beating your wife yet?
(StanNote: I figure if I’m gonna be accused of it, I might as well be guilty of it)
Stan,
I’d attempt to appeal to your ignorance but you state such weak analogies I’m afraid it would be pointless.
So appeal to my intelligence. Oh, you don’t have that capability, do you? …
Stan..Stan..you’re denying the correlative, silly.
Reck, I’m waiting.
“How much of human life is lost in waiting.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
So you’re supposed to have the power to prevent human life being lost in waiting. Appeal to my intelligence. and you’ll be saving human life. Right?
“Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a Montecito-area property to their real estate holdings, reports the Montecito Journal.
The couple spent $8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, a real estate source familiar with the deal confirms. The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.”
LA Times article
I’m sure the carbon footprint will be quite small.
it cracks me up how you leftists support these hypocrites. Yall remind me of the people who watch the million tele-evangelists and send em half your pay.
ROFL!!
Reck, I’m still waiting.
There’s nothing wrong w/ the food service industry Stan. Be proud of what you do!
Huh???? There seems to be (as per usual) a incongruity problem with your comment.
Whaa..?? There seems to be (as per usual) an incongruity problem w/ your brain.
